Task Scheduler Error message: 'Se;lect Task {0}
Hi, When I start the Task Scheduler, I always get this eeror message: The select task “{0}” no longer exists to see the current tasks, click Refresh. And when I click Refresh, nothing happen and I cannot see any active tasks that are running. What is displayed is "Reading Data Failed". I was reading that the task scheduler service should have the option "Allow services to interact with Desktop" checked but I cannot change it as it is all grayed out. Can we change it? Thanks

Hi, I have resolved the problem by deleteing the file ScheduledDefrag from c:\windows\system32\tasks\windows\defrag. thanks to the hint at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/273368d4-ed12-4107-9d52-34759f2b53aa/. Will there be any other problem and is the task schedule service cannot be modified?

Hi, Based on my research, If Task scheduler service is stopped or disabled, these tasks will not be run at their scheduled times. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start. And Task Scheduler Service must be started with System Account. Regarding this issue, you could refer to the following articles: Error message 'The selected task "{0}" no longer exists.
